Understand the roles of cleansing, moisturizing and sun protection.
Start with a small routine
For many people, gentle cleansing and a moisturizer suited to their skin can form a practical foundation. Introducing several strong active ingredients at once makes irritation harder to identify. Patch testing and gradual changes can be useful.
Protect from UV exposure
Sun protection should reflect the local UV conditions and time spent outdoors. Use an appropriate broad-spectrum sunscreen according to its label and reapply as directed. Clothing, shade and avoiding strong midday sun remain useful complementary measures.
Know when to ask a dermatologist
Persistent rashes, painful acne, changing lesions and significant irritation deserve professional evaluation. A consumer guide cannot diagnose a skin condition, and products marketed as natural are not automatically non-irritating.
